Terms and conditions
- The competition is open to Year 7, 8 and 9 students, staff and parents from secondary schools within Greater London;
- In order to participate in the competition students must obtain their parent / guardian’s written consent to do so. The promoter will not be liable for any injury or accidents to students / parents / guardians or staff while participating in this competition;
- No purchase is necessary;
- Entries to the competition must be received by 26 June 2009
- The 3 school awards will be awarded to:
- The school that register the highest number of participants.
- The school that logs the highest number of miles on the website.
- The school that registers the highest number of participants who are new cyclists.
- Participation is deemed to be the logging of a cycle journey during the London Schools Challenge 2009 between 15 and 26 June 2009 on the schools cycle challenge website.
- New Cyclists are deemed to be participants who answer ‘Never / I can’t remember the last time’ to the question ‘Typically, how often do you ride a bike?’ contained within the registration questionnaire.
- The 4 winning year group team awards will go to:
- The year 7 team that registers the largest number of participants within the challenge.
- The year 8 team that registers the largest number of participants within the challenge.
- The year 9 team that registers the largest number of participants within the challenge.
- The staff/parent team that registers the largest number of participants within the challenge.
- Winners of the school and year group awards will receive a trophy that will be presented to representatives from the schools at a special Smarter Travel Unit event. No alternative prizes or cash alternative is available;
- The names of the winning schools will be made available on request by email / post within one month of the closing date;
- The promoter of the competition is TfL, 50 Victoria Street, London SW1H 0TL. The promoter's decision is final and binding in all matters and no correspondence will be entered into in respect of the competition;
- This agreement is governed by the laws of England & Wales;
- Entry into the competition indicates acceptance of these terms and conditions.
